A Passion For Service

In 2006, Dr. Guerrero graduates from The Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM), now Texas Health and Science University (THSU), in Austin, Texas, with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In November of 2006, Alamo Acucare opens in a third floor of the Oak Hill Square Building on Northwest San Antonio.

 Collaboration with Physical Therapy Clinic Begins

Due to the increasing demand on orthopedic acupuncture services, Alamo Acucare began collaborations with Catalyst Physical Therapy (CPT) and started providing acupuncture services at the CPT location. This collaboration provided an opportunity for Dr. Guerrero to expand his knowledge in cases involving sports, and orthopedic injuries, a field that Dr. Guerrero had a great interest in.

Educating the Public

After 8 years in private practice, Dr. Guerrero realized that educating the public on the benefits of acupuncture is an important first step in helping people, but it would take a long time doing so if he had to reach one person at the time. He realized he needed help. For that reason, Dr. Guerrero joined the Faculty of the Texas Health and Science University (THSU) in San Antonio. Sharing his passion for service with Acupuncture students would serve his goal of reaching a greater number of people. At the same time, he enrolled in THSU’s Doctoral Program to increase his academic acumen. Dr. Guerrero served in THSU’s administration as the Academic Dean, Clinical and Program Director at the institution’s San Antonio Campus.
